Samsung has announced today the latest addition to its
growing family of compact system cameras – the NX2000.
The NX2000 sports a 20.3 megapixel APS-C sized sensor
complemented by a DRIMe IV image processing engine which has been designed to
reduce noise, improve speed and boost colour reproduction. It also offers
continuous shooting at up to 8 frames per second as well as a 1/4000th
second top shutter speed. The NX2000’s sensitivity range starts at ISO 100 and
can reach up to ISO 25600.
There’s a 3.7-inch WVGA full touchscreen at the back of the
device. There’s also a Smart Mode function that provides 14 different scene
modes and a range of settings for beginner photographers.
The NX2000 also sports a host of smartphone-like features
including Wi-Fi and NFC technology that allows instant connectivity to
compatible Android smartphones and tablets. A Direct Link button can also be
used to instantly upload images to social networking sites such as Facebook.
The camera will also now support 12 lenses which include
compact pancake lenses, zooms, portrait, macro and i-Function lenses. Samsung
will also throw in a free copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 for every
purchase of the NX2000. The camera will be available in black, white and pink with pricing to be announced soon.
