BlackBerry Announces Porsche Design P’9982

After being leaked in a video last week, BlackBerry today announced its latest premium smartphone the Porsche Design P’9982.

As it turns out, much of the leaked information about the handset were true. For starters, the design of the handset is typical Porsche design that features stainless steel aluminium and leather. The P’99812 is based on the BlackBerry Z10 but is slightly larger and heavier due to the materials used on it. To be specific, the P’9982 is around 2.5 grams heavier than the Z10.

The P’9982 also has 64GB of on-board storage compared to the 16GB on the Z10. This storage can further be increased by using a microSD card.

Other than the said features above, the P’9982 basically has the same components as the Z10 including a Qualcomm MSM8960 chip with 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU, Adreno 225 GPU, 2GB of RAM and a 1800mAh battery.

Also, just like the Z10, the P’9982 sports an 8MP camera at the back with an LED flash, a 2MP front-facing camera that is capable of capturing 720p videos at 30fps, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, an accelerometer, gyro and proximity sensor and a compass.

The BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9982 is expected to hit stores by November 21 and might be priced at the $2000-$2500 range.
