Huawei Adds a Sapphire Crystal Panel to its Ascend P7

Huawei’s flagship smartphone is getting a minor upgrade to will pit it against the upcoming iPhone 6 thanks to the addition of a Sapphire Crystal panel.

According to a report by GSMArena, representatives of the company have confirmed that they will soon release a special edition of the Ascend P7 called the Ascend P7 Sapphire edition. The phone is headed to China and will likely have 4G LTE connectivity, which is probably compatible with China Telecom’s network.
By the looks of it, the device will be offered as a China-exclusive. There’s no word on pricing yet but the addition of a Sapphire crystal panel will definitely shoot the price up – probably in the $700-800 range.
