Vivo’s long-awaited slim phone – the X5 Max is now official
and its taking on Gionee’s Elife
S5.5 and the Oppo
R5 for the title of World’s slimmest smartphone.
With a waistline of just 4.75mm, the X5 Max is able to get ahead
of the R5 by a mere 0.1mm, which is mostly thanks to its 5.5-inch Super AMOLED
Full HD Panel that measures just 1.36mm thin. Vivo has impressively packed a
lot of hardware in the X5 Max’s thin body including a Snapdragon 615 chip with
an octa-core 64-bit CPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
There’s also a 13MP Sony IMX214 sensor at the back with an
LED flash that slightly protrudes from the body, a 5MP snapper at the front for
selfies, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box with
the company’s Funtouch OS 2.0 on top.
On the quirky side of things, the phone does have some
Karaoke function thanks to the Yamaha YSS-205X chip installed on the device.
The X5 Max supports all kinds of karaoke apps as well as Hi-Fi 2.0. The phone
will also have two SIM card slots and 4G connectivity.
Vivo is expecting to push delivery of the handset just
before Christmas day (approximately on December 22) for around $485.
